Liquid Sodium Silicate for Water Treatment

Coagulant Aid Applications in Water Treatment   In the water treatment field, Sodium Silicate has important and unique application value. Activated silicic acid is a water treatment flocculant prepared by acidifying industrial sodium silicate (water glass), with the chemical formula Na₂O·xSiO₂·yH₂O, mainly used as a coagulant aid in water treatment. As early as 1952, Tianjin Waterworks began using activated silicic acid as a coagulant aid in water treatment.   Mechanism of Action in Wastewater Purification   Sodium Silicate can bind molecules and heavy pollutants for precipitation, separating them from water molecules to achieve purification. Sodium metasilicate reacts with acids or highly electrophilic cations to form porous precipitated silica hydrates, which have strong adsorption capacity and carry a certain negative charge, effectively adsorbing pollutants in water.
