The cloth receives heat setting treatment during manufacturing. The heat setting process fixes the fabric dimensions and stabilizes the pore openings. The cloth also receives calendering treatment. The calendering process applies heat and pressure to flatten the fabric surface. After these treatments the cloth surface becomes flat and level.
