Introduction In the furnace you can control temperature and composition. What you cannot fully control there is purity: during tapping the steel generates secondary slag and absorbs gas, and that contamination ends up in your casting. Secondary refining exists to fix this. Our Secondary Refining Agent for Steel Casting is applied in the ladle to remove the oxides and inclusions picked up during tapping, in the minutes right before pouring.   How secondary refining works The agent lowers the surface tension around microscopic oxide particles so they collide and grow. Larger particles rise faster, so the inclusions that would otherwise freeze into the casting wall float to the slag layer instead. At the same time the agent removes hydrogen and oxygen and reduces sulfur, lowering both gas porosity and white spot risk.   Key specifications - Dosage: add to ladle bottom, 1.5-2.0 kg per ton of molten steel - Particle size: 1-3 mm and 3-8 mm - Packing: 30 kg sealed drum - Quality system: IS…
